Image and Thumbnail Effects Windows
Arles 7 features a new Image Effects window. It replaces the old Border, Add Text and Add Image Logo windows. The main advantage is that you can now add multiple texts and logos to your images. There is no limit to the amount of items you can add. The same image effects are also available for the thumbnails, which means you can add texts and logos to thumbnails too.
Effects can be dragged and dropped in the correct order. Also new is the Grayscale effect. The Text effect has gotten more powerful too. Dropshadows and outlines can help greatly to make the text stand out better from the image.
Movie and subfolder effects
Arles can generate galleries with subfolders and movies. One of the problems was if you had a gallery with both normal images and movies, it was hard to tell which thumbnail was a movie and which one an image.
In Arles 7 you can now apply custom effects to both subfolder and movie thumbnails. You could, for example, add the text "movie" to all movie thumbnails, making it obvious for the visitors of the gallery which thumbnail links to an image and which one links to a movie. The custom effects can be set in the Advanced Thumbnail Options window.
Two startup icons
The Arles Image Web Page Creator has since long existed of the two main parts: the Web Page Creator window and the Arles Image Explorer. In older versions it was possible to select with which window Arles should startup. However, many users never found this option. In an effort to make things more obvious, Arles 7 will have two Windows startup icons. One to start the Arles Image Explorer and one to start the Web Page Creator.
Transparency support
Arles now fully supports transparency in editing and saving images. Dropshadows, masks and image texts will all show the background behind it as long as you select PNG with transparency information as output format. There is only one snag. Internet Explorer 7 or better is required to show the galleries. Internet Explorer 6 contains a bug which makes transparent areas show up in strange colors. The Firefox, Opera and Safari webbrowsers show transparent PNG images just fine.

You can use this, for example, to add a "movie" text to movie thumbnails making them stand out from normal images. This new setting is available in the Advanced Thumbnail Options window.
- Fixed: The Arles icon sometimes did not show up in the windows Alt+Tab dialog.
- Fixed: When multi-folder processing the progress dialog sometimes showed a "labeltitle" text.
- Fixed: When multi-folder processing and clicking cancel on the question to create a target folder, Arles proceeded to the next gallery instead of cancelling completely.
