Please finally find my completed website at <a href='http://www.globalhopkins.com' target='_blank'>GLOBALHOPKINS.COM</a>

All of the photo galleries were created using the Arles program. To generate them, I used my own template created in Dreamweaver to create a unified look.

I have been working on this site for more than a year and have been following all the updates to ARLES that Jan has done. I can truly say he is one of the best in terms of following up with technical support and upgrades. The program was/is well worth the money.

This site tries to capture my passion for travel and experiencing other cultures. Most of the Galleries created are in the "World Trip I" and "Previous Trips" sections. A short background is that I used to work for The Coca-Cola Company and was able to visit many of 82 countries visted thru them.

I currently live in Atlanta, GA but work for a small company in Israel. (Yes, I make the 14 hour commute every 2 weeks.) I hope to visit more Middle Eastern countries soon so stop by my site often.

Of course, any comments on the site are welcome.

Enjoy! MIKE

Wow that is one impressive website. I like to travel too, but pale in comparison.

As a scuba diver myself I would trade the "Dive with the great white sharks must do" into an innocent "Dive with a Whale shark". I love seeing sharks under water, just not that one.

I have updated my site with my recent trip to <a href='http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/jordan/jordon.htm' target='_blank'>Petra, Jordan</a>.
<a href='http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/jordan/jordon.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/jordan/jordon.htm</a>

The <formerly> lost city of Petra is amazing. Probably one of the top 5 places I have visited. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

MIKE

ps. There are new pictures from <a href='http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/israel/israel.htm' target='_blank'>Israel</a> also.

OK Jan,
Finally got did one of my goals which was to dive with the Great White Shark down in Africa. I know it is not your thing but it really was awesome.

Here is the link:
<a href='http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/greatwhite/greatwhite.htm' target='_blank'>Great White Shark Diving</a>
<a href='http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/greatwhite/greatwhite.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/greatwh.../greatwhite.htm</a>

I like your Version 6. It has been awhile since I have used your program. I was glad to pay the $25 upgrade fee. You have done some great work with this program.

More pictures/galleries to come from Capetown, South Africa and the Dunes of Namibia.

Hi Mike,

Nice pictures. The big white still looks mighty scary though. So its a good thing they don't hang around in the warmer places where I tend to dive.

Not only do I have the Great White Shark photos up, I got the rest of my trip to Cape Town and Namibia posted also.

The link is here: <a href='http://www.globalhopkins.com/trips/safrica.htm' target='_blank'>Cape Town & Namibia</a>

The sand dunes in Namibia were incredible to view both from the air and on foot. I can highly recommend Namibia as a travel destination.

All the photo albums were created with Arles Image Web Page Creator. I am so glad I found this program on the internet.

Nice.

Namibia is quite high on my to do list. I've been to Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa but still want to go check out the dunes in Namibia. Did you drive from South Africa to Windhoek?

Due to limited US vacation time, I flew from Cape Town to Windhoek, rented a car and drove across Namibia to the coast to Swakopmund (all in one day). I would have loved to have driven from South Africa because I would have crossed Fish River Canyon which is the 2nd Largest Canyon in the world after the US Grand Canyon.

Coming from the South (Georgia) where I am used to a lot of black people speaking 'Southern (American) English', it was interesting to hear the black people in Namibia speaking German. (Namibia used to be a German colony.)

There were several Mozambicans who spoke German too, because of the close ties Mozambique had with East-Germany after they broke free from the Portuguese.

Even more fun (for me) was being Dutch in South-Africa. The language "Afrikaans" is closely related to Dutch and if I spoke slowly Dutch and the South-Africans spoke slowly Afrikaans we could very well understand each other.

I have finally completed the journey of my dreams.....
EASTER ISLAND (Rapa Nui).

The trip was more than I expected. The Moai statues were incredible. The scuba diving was to die for. The Sunsets amazing! Check them all out here:

Wow, that must have been a great trip. Now I am jealous.

I did not know that there were actually statues in the water too.

Jan,
Sorry to say but the two Moai statues were put there 10 years ago. They are not natural. But they are still very interesting to see underwater. Great Photo Op!

Of all the diving I have done around the world, it was the most incredible diving in terms of visibility. We had more than 65 meters vis. (200 feet) When we we floating on the surface, we could see all the way to the bottom. The reason it is so clear is due to the lack of Plankton. Due to this, there aren't many fish as compared to other places I have been. However, it was still incredible diving and I would definitely go again.
